This is a wonderful tale of trusting that you deserve to be loved – I mean really loved. You go through a journey with Jeanella and her growing to love others and herself. At first Jeanella really made me want to yell at her and say, “Don’t you get it? Your friends are trying to tell you that you deserve better and can get better, but yet you go the safe route.” I don’t want to give away the plot, so I will just speak to the emotions you go through in the book. Jeanella a 20 something career women trying to find her place in this world with no major family issues, but has a huge hang up personally.
.
“I’m not afraid to love you, I’m… I’m more afraid of losing you.”
.
Jeanella meets Maxwell and all her perfect plans go out the window. Not like she planned it or anything, but it seemed that destiny had them put together. Max, oh Max – well, his past comes to back and he is tested on how he deals with it.
.
“I’m a lucky man to have found you. I’ve never fallen so deep and so fast before. You’ve cast a spell on me. I’m going to be good, to be the man you want me to be, to be the man you deserve, the man you want to have a future with.”
.
The author really did a nice job of giving you a good picture of each scene and understanding what was going on in Jeanella’s head; the book is written in her point of view. The good news is that on February 10th the author is releasing Max’s point of view – yippee!!
.
“Beck was right. I would rather love hard and get hurt, than not really love at all… but in my case, it was different.”
Check out this sneak peak of the book…
