I so loved this book; the story and the funny banter throughout the book was great. And just as the author did for her readers at the beginning of the book, I will give you a heads-up about the book in advance. First off, Dominic is set in Ireland and most of the characters are Irish and have an Irish dialect; that aspect made me love the book even more. You get a really good sense of the story, which puts you right in the center of what Ireland culture is; you can picture perfectly in your head what things look like and even smell like. There is also another thing I feel compelled to warn you about. In the description section of the Amazon sale posting it reads:
WARNING: If you don’t like leading males that are possessive pr**ks, Dominic is NOT for you. If you don’t like leading females that are stubborn bi**hes, Dominic is NOT for you. If you don’t like characters who have bad tempers, Dominic is NOT for you. Most of all, if you don’t like characters who CURSE A LOT and say EXACTLY what they feel and are thinking without sugar coating it then Dominic is REALLY NOT for you.
And yes, please take heed to the warning above.
So, I gave you the heads-up and the warnings – now comes the fun stuff about the book. As I explained, this story takes place in Ireland. The heroine is from Ireland and has lived with her older sister since her parents died in an accident. She really keeps to herself and she likes that she isn’t hugely noticed. The heroine and hero are seniors in high school, but really dealing with very grown up circumstances. The hero just transferred from America to Ireland with his brothers, but really, why are they there? The story reads fast and funny and sometimes heart breaking, but I found myself cheering for both of them. I’m going back and fourth between the two on who gets my support, but Alpha Dominic overpowers your brain while reading and demands that he is the star and the man to cheer for. Just as Dominic’s personality demands your attention, so does this story. I got sucked in and didn’t put the book down until I finished. The banter back and fourth was cleaver in a way that you can totally see how a hot-headed Irish girl who is shielding herself would react. I loved the relationships between the brothers and I can’t wait to read about their stories. They’re all HOT but with very different personalities and situations. I’m very curious to see how it all plays out in the series in hopes that they all get a happy ending. I give this read 4.5 stars!
