Review
I received this book from Strebor Books with Simon and Schuster publishing in exchange for an honest review.
Released 1/14/2014
While reading the synopsis, I was excited at the idea of reading this book, thinking there would be a huge plot twist that would blow me away and send me into a book frenzy. But I am sorry to tell you that it was kinda boring. The story line was cheesy. Successful black women focused on her career, yet wants a family too. Has problems balancing both and she doesn’t understand what she has to do.
While reading, it reminded me of the BET series “Being Mary Jane”; it has a similar plot but it’s much more interesting seeing Gabriella Union going through the trials. In the book, there was no big plot twist that I did not see coming and I can’t really report anything to brag about. It was a nice story but not one to write home about. If you are looking for an easy read about a single woman trying to balance family and career, you just might like this book. Beyond that, the writing was well done and this is a standalone novel.
