Here is the original Carrie trailer from 1976. As most of you know the movie was based on a Stephen King’s novel withe the synopsis of a misfit high-school girl, Carrie White, who gradually discovers that she has telekinetic powers. Repressed by a domineering, ultra-religious mother and tormented by her peers at school, her efforts to fit in lead to a dramatic confrontation during the senior prom..
There is another “new” version of Carrie that is coming out this Friday and I wanted to remind myself of the old Carrie, and in my opinion the best Carrie out there. Sissy Spacek and John Travolta (which I just found out that this was his first major motion picture, go figure) in this movie which is one of the reasons for making this movie memorable. I remember when I first saw the movie and I could not get the chant “There all going to laugh at you” out of my head. That’s what makes this film great, and that is what makes this movie a hard re-make because they got it right the first time. That ‘s my thoughts about the movie.
Hey Andrea! It was great meeting you at the bloggers conference last weekend. I sat by you at lunch.
This blog is great! I don’t think I’ve ever been to a book review blog before. Awesome idea. Keep up the good work – and maybe I’ll catch you at the next conference 🙂
